Last week I fitted a panic push bar on a fire door in a service station in Cheltenham. When ordering a panic push bar you should make sure they have a 120-minute fire regulated code. This should be adhered to or you could be fined by health and safety. I fitted this to a metal fire door using the correct fixings as per the current regulations. The previous installer had used wooden screws, which failed, resulting in damage to the old push bar. Unfortunately, this meant a new installation was required, costing the owner extra money.
