I was called out the other night to a Student Let where they couldn’t lock their front door. The old night latch lock had failed. The house was on a fairly busy road and with students staying in the house, this was a job that needed my 24-hour local locksmith services.

These old night latches can still be found on some houses’ front doors. They’re not secure enough to meet insurance standards, so please check your front door locks & if you’ve got an old lock get it checked by your local, friendly locksmith in Cheltenham. We can advise and if necessary, upgrade your lock to a much higher security lock that meets BS3621 standards, such as the Yale 88.
I fitted this new night latch lock for the students straight away, as I always carry a good selection of locks and lock repair parts on my van. They were happy they could now sleep easy.
